Ambassador Engagement Manager

Alliance Defending Freedom is looking for a highly relational Ambassador Engagement Manager to join us in our Scottsdale, AZ office.  As the Ambassador Engagement Manager, you are a vital part of the Ambassador Program and the overarching Development team. This position will report to the Senior Director of the Ambassador Program. The Ambassador Engagement Manager will play a key role in the recruitment, engagement, and retention efforts of all Ambassador and Ambassador Captain communities. You will be responsible for engaging with Ambassadors directly at all stages of their affiliation with the ministry from serving as initial point of contact to maintaining ongoing deeper relationships – all with the goal of increasing the impact of the national Ambassador network in furthering the mission of ADF.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this position, you will successfully:

  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Director of the Ambassador Program to execute engagement and growth strategies of the national Ambassador network.
  • Maintain oversight of the application and onboarding communication process of individual new Ambassadors including leading applicant screening/vetting via phone and virtual interviews, approval and processing of new Ambassador applications, and ensuring those new Ambassadors receive proper guidance, orientation, and training.
  • Develop strong relationships with Ambassadors and Ambassador Captains through regular interaction (via phone, email, virtual meetings, notes, and/or in-person when necessary) that will enhance and increase their engagement with the program and ministry; refine the process to most effectively organize and schedule regular contact touchpoints as appropriate.
  • Identify strategic opportunities to recruit new Ambassadors and Captains and equip them to serve ADF in the most impactful manner according to their unique skills, interests, experience, and availability.
  • Serve as primary contact to field questions and requests from internal and external sources regarding leveraging the Ambassador network in grassroots advocacy efforts for the furtherance of ADF’s mission, including opportunities to invite Ambassadors to attend and/or participate in regional events, meetings, or other engagements.
  • Manage timely follow-up with all Ambassadors, Ambassador prospects, contacts, event attendees, referrals, allies, and other program information seekers; implement referrals of prospects to other internal teams when appropriate.
  • Assist the Senior Director in the identification of Ambassadors who should be considered for potential promotion to Captain, or who otherwise merit a higher level of personal contact.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director on the content and agenda flow of monthly Captains’ virtual meetings; lead the preparation, organization, resources, and execution of the monthly Captains meetings, including coordinating guest speakers, designing relevant PowerPoint presentations, assembling statistics and other data, and presenting on-camera during the meeting as needed.
  • Manage compilation and distribution of monthly Captains update emails as well as accurate, updated regional rosters.
  • Review and evaluate Captains quarterly reports; identify areas of concern or celebration therein
  • Conduct virtual orientations and/or trainings for new and existing Ambassadors as needed; identify appropriate topics and content for such trainings.
  • Field event planning inquiries from Ambassadors, filter for potential success, and guide the process from inception to calendar approval and launch of the formal event planning process as appropriate based on type and scope of each event; consult with Ambassadors as to effective engagement strategies and accompanying resources and materials.
  • Manage the compilation of constituent prayer requests (and subsequent updates) gathered during engagement efforts, and the ongoing submission of those requests to the Ambassador Prayer Team.
  • Develop content as needed that promotes, profiles, or informs our constituents about the Ambassador network, including program news and updates, successes, events, etc.
  • Lead the collection and analysis of engagement-related metrics; create reports of Ambassador engagement or other data; recommend changes to processes that increase program success.
  • Ensure the accuracy of prospect and contact records in CRM database. This includes running data hygiene reports to ensure Ambassador records are accurate and submitting IT tickets when issues arise related to reports, processing Ambassador applications, onboarding automation, engagement stats, and other position-specific processes.
  • Maintain knowledge of Ambassador Program and overall Development Team processes and protocols; establish and maintain inter-team and cross-team relationships; remain sensitive to the culture and integrity of Alliance Defending Freedom and its constituents.
  • Attend engagements; speak publicly on behalf of the Ambassador Program and ADF as directed.
  • Serve as liaison for the Ambassador Team’s engagement operations as directed by program’s senior Director or VP; back-up the Senior Director when needed by representing the team in meetings, events, or other engagements – both internal and external – and by performing duties as assigned.

Skills needed to succeed:

Ability to:

Promote and inspire engagement in the Ambassador Program.
Understand and adapt messaging and talking points for Ambassadors.
Travel as needed to events, meetings, or other engagements.
Communicate program information, updates, trends, benefits, or other elements effectively.
Understand and communicate in a clear and concise manner the work and mission of ADF.
Troubleshoot technical issues and submit ServiceDesk tickets as appropriate based on the functionality of the software, CRM database, and other position-specific processes.
Work flexible schedules during busy events and/or other periods as needed.
Ability to coach and correct others effectively with love and grace for the benefit of teammates’ personal development.

Demonstrated proficiencies:

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence.
Strong multi-tasking abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Education and/or experience:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Prior successful experience in building relationships and working effectively with a team while managing multiple relationships.
Non-profit experience preferred.
Experience with or aptitude for content management and customer relationship management software; prior exposure to Salesforce software is a plus.
