Key Experience required includes:

  • Monitor hearing schedules; create and maintain a detailed weekly policy calendar, updating throughout the week as needed.
  • Take detailed, verbatim notes during any committee hearings, floor debates, or other events integrating the impact of these events on the CAP mission and issues.
  • Conduct research on legislation and policy issues as requested.
  • Draft policy-related emails and documents as needed.
  • Oversee and carry out end of legislative session projects, including the compilation of data for voting records and legislative files.
  • Assist in executing legal and policy elements of CAP’s AZ Voter Guide, including monitoring responses from candidates.
  • Provide background research on CAP issues and potential issues to find new ideas for legislative proposals and policy initiatives.

Desired Characteristics

  • Mature Christian, currently attending or pursuing attendance in a local Bible-believing church.
  • Agreement with and adherence to CAP’s Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct.
  • Demonstrated commitment to, and agreement with CAP’s mission and position on core issues.
  • Ability to work discreetly with confidential information, trustworthy and responsible.
  • Tactful and diplomatic, building consensus rather than emphasizing differences.
  • A strong work ethic with a teachable attitude.
