JOB TITLE: Video Assistant
REPORTS TO: Communications & Video Manager
POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of the Video Assistant is to provide creative assistance within broadcasting, videography, and still photography services through capturing, editing content, and directing/producing our live streamed worship services on Sunday.
This position is part-time, 16 hours per week.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties of the Video Assistant include the following. These duties may be modified and other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the church.
- Prepare weekly worship and sermon slides and videos for weekend corporate worship
- Operate the video switcher for our live stream, direct the visual presentation on the screens, and set-up video equipment prior to services by working the sound booth on Sunday mornings
- Capture and edit announcement, pre-sermon, ministry and testimonial videos
- Take photos at ministry events for marketing material and social media use
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to utilize editing software and cinematography equipment
- Detail-oriented, organized and diligent
- Proficient with technology: Microsoft Office, G-Suite and/or Adobe products
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Able to deal with last-minute changes and critical feedback
- Be a member of Shiloh Community Church or agree to become a member by attending the next scheduled membership class
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Film, Video, or Animation training at a trade school or four-year university (or equivalent experience)
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficient in a video editing suite such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Davinci, etc.
- Experience in pre-planning of film shoots and directing film shoots
- Familiar with production equipment including audio and lighting equipment
- Demonstrate ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously
- Is self-disciplined and takes initiative
